This World Heart Day, we share five simple ways you can show your heart some love!

1. Don’t be a couch potato:

Most of us struggle to find the time and motivation to exercise in our busy schedules. But don’t let that be an excuse. Get active, exercise for at least 30-60 minutes every day. Try finding a workout buddy – working out with someone is a great motivation.

2. Watch what you eat:

Instead of giving up your favourite foods, practice portion control. Use the 50:25:25 rule to balance your place where 50% of your plate is made up of fibres (green leafy vegetables, fruits, whole grains), 25% of your plate is made up of proteins, and the remaining 25% of your plate is made up of carbohydrates. 3. Keep an eye on the weighing scale:

Larger waistlines increase your risk for all kinds of diseases so trim that fat. Set a target weight – one that is ideal for you as per your height. Start by weighing yourself regularly – it acts as a good reminder and motivation. 


4. Breathe in, breathe out:

Stress is unavoidable in today’s day and age. But get into the habit of not getting stressed by every little thing. Start meditating – even if it is only for 10-15 minutes every day. Find out how stress affects you – it will act as a good motivation to just keep calm and carry on!

5. Keep your blood sugar levels under control:
